Freshly fried squid? Oh yes! And served in a restaurant on a dock off the northern coast? Count me in!
I was also introduced to the delicacy of a goat barbecue and the Cypriot version of ketchup and mayonnaise.
I have to admit - my favorite food this week was at a small cafe in Paphos - the Greek salad had fresh halloumi cheese, rocket (a local herb), pickled capers, fresh tomatoes, mixed greens tossed in balsamic vinegar. The pita was fresh out of the brick oven and its seven different dipping sauces were superb!
If you cant tell.... I love food.
Logan discovered that..... "Ketcap" does NOT taste like ketchup.....mayonnaise didn't pass the test either.
Mmmmm.....goat.....barbecue style. I will admit, I never thought I would say this, but the goat turned out VERY good. Quite scrumptious. |
Paphose favorites include the delicious salad and pita, as well as the fresh orange juice served out of an oversize orange (i just missed the lady, but she pops out of the top of the orange to give you the juice!
